Slovenia Signature Tour

Day 1 – Arrival in Ljubljana

Arrive at Ljubljana Airport, collect your rental car and drive to your luxury accommodation in Ljubljana. Spend the rest of the day settling in or taking a gentle stroll along the Ljubljanica River, enjoying the city’s riverside cafés and vibrant atmosphere.

Day 2 – Discover Ljubljana

Explore Slovenia’s capital on a private guided tour, passing iconic landmarks such as Congress Square, the National and University Library, St.Nicholas Cathedral, Prešeren Square, the Triple Bridge, and the Dragon Bridge.

Ascend to Ljubljana Castle via funicular for panoramic views over the city and surrounding Alps. Stop for lunch at the castle’s renowned restaurant, followed by a Slovenian wine tasting in the old town. Optionally, take a private boat ride on the Ljubljanica River.

Dinner recommendation: Michelin-starred Atelje.

Day 3 – Bled & Bohinj

Drive to the Alpine gem of Bled. Take a traditional pletna boat to the island church and ring the wishing bell at the Church of the Assumption.

Pause for lunch at Bled Castle, where you can enjoy stunning lake views and try the famous Bled cream cake (kremšnita).

In the afternoon, continue to Lake Bohinj in Triglav National Park, Slovenia’s largest lake, surrounded by dramatic mountains. Visit the Church of St. John and hike to Savica Waterfall, a striking two-tiered cascade with a turquoise pool, set against alpine cliffs and forest.

Optional dinner at Vila Podvin, a Michelin-starred restaurant known for its creative approach to traditional Slovenian cuisine.

Overnight stay in the Bled/Bohinj area (luxury hotel or glamping).

Day 4 – Kranjska Gora, Vršič Pass & Soča River Valley

Drive through the alpine town of Kranjska Gora, then traverse the breathtaking Vršič Pass, the highest road pass in Slovenia, with panoramic views of the Julian Alps. Stop at the Russian Chapel, a poignant WWI memorial, before continuing to Trenta and Bovec, renowned for adventure sports.

Visit Kobarid, home to the WWI Museum, which explores the Isonzo Front and local history. Optional lunch at Hiša Franko, led by world-renowned chef Ana Roš (advance reservation required).

Day 6 – Karst Region & the Slovenian Coast

Visit Štanjel, a hilltop village famed for its stone houses, charming alleys, and Ferrari Garden, offering panoramic views of the Karst plateau. Optionally, visit the Lipica Stud Farm, home of the white Lipizzaner horses, with opportunities for carriage or horseback rides.

Day 7 – Piran, Postojna & Predjama Castle

Start the day in Piran, Slovenia’s best-preserved coastal town, with Venetian architecture, red-tiled roofs, and charming squares.

In the afternoon, visit Postojna Cave, exploring its dramatic stalactite and stalagmite formations partly by electric train, then continue to Predjama Castle, a dramatic fortress built into a cliff face, known for its hidden passages and medieval history.

Overnight stay on the Slovenian coast or in Ljubljana.

Day 8 – Departure

After breakfast, make your way to the airport to return your rental car and catch your flight home.
