After breakfast, meet your private guide for a walking tour through Slovenia’s charming capital. Discover historic landmarks including the University, National Library, Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation on Prešeren Square. Day 3 – Velika Planina & Kamnik

Pick up your rental car and drive to Velika Planina plateau, a high alpine pasture dotted with traditional wooden shepherds’ huts. Hike or take a cable car to enjoy views of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and taste fresh local dairy like sour milk and trnič cheese.

In the afternoon, visit Kamnik, a picturesque medieval town with narrow streets, charming squares, and historic architecture. Return to Ljubljana in the evening.

Note: This is an active day; comfortable footwear and sportswear are recommended.

Day 4 – Bled & Bohinj

Start the day with a trip to Bled, one of Slovenia’s most iconic alpine towns. Visit the fairy-tale Bled Castle, perched above Lake Bled, and enjoy the view of its small island and the surrounding Julian Alps. Take a traditional pletna boat ride to the island and ring the wishing bell at the Church of the Assumption.

In the afternoon, continue to nearby Bohinj, Slovenia’s largest lake nestled in Triglav National Park. Visit the lakeside Church of St. John the Baptist or hike to the impressive Savica Waterfall. Weather permitting, you may swim in the lake or rent a canoe. Return to Ljubljana in the evening.

Day 5 – Koper & Piran

After breakfast, head to Slovenia’s Adriatic coast. Begin in Koper, a port city that has retained its medieval charm. Explore Tito Square and its elegant historical buildings, including the Praetorian Palace.

Continue to the romantic town of Piran, known for its narrow alleyways and Venetian architecture. Walk through Tartini Square, climb to St. George’s Cathedral, and enjoy views over the Adriatic Sea.

Optional stop on the return to Ljubljana: the village of Hrastovlje, home to a 15th-century church famous for its preserved frescoes.

Day 6 – Kranjska Gora, Vršič Pass & Soča Valley

Travel north to Kranjska Gora, a scenic alpine town and popular year-round sports destination. Then drive the panoramic route over the Vršič Pass into the stunning Soča Valley.

En route, stop at the Russian Chapel — a WWI memorial — and take in the beauty of the emerald-green Soča River. Visit Bovec, where optional activities like rafting or zip-lining are available.

Continue to Kobarid, historically significant for its role in the Isonzo Front during WWI. Visit the Kobarid Museum or hike to the striking Kozjak Waterfall.

Return to Ljubljana in the evening. (Alternate option: Day trip to Maribor and Ptuj.)

Day 7 – Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle

After breakfast, drive to Postojna Cave, Europe’s largest show cave open to the public. Ride an underground electric train and walk through majestic halls filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Don’t miss the rare “human fish,” a blind salamander once believed to be a baby dragon.

Next, visit nearby Predjama Castle — an extraordinary Renaissance fortress built into a sheer cliff. Learn about its dramatic history and secret escape passages. Return to Ljubljana in the afternoon.
